The deck is filled to the brim with ways to damage yourself (Note: the 'life loss' ones do not work with Darien and are there only to accelerate the plunge to near-death for your life-swapping shenanigans). \n\nThis deck does want some pretty specific cards to setup the perfect situation, so there is a tutor package to help you get there. "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Soul Channeling"}},{"insert":" is particularly cool in that it can protect a key creature and allow you to drain yourself to near zero at instant speed. I also think that "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Touch the Spirit Realm"}},{"insert":" realm is a little bit of an underrated dual removal / protection piece.\n\nAfter you do setup, you'll find 40 life is often not enough to do what you want so there are many ways to 'refund' the life that you lose.\n\nWith Darien on the battlefield, cards like the Soul Sisters - "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Soul Warden"}},{"insert":" , "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Soul's Attendant"}},{"insert":" , and "},{"insert":{"card-link":"Essence Warden"}},{"insert":" - allow you to make soldiers without actually losing any life.
