How do I link my Patreon to Archidekt?

If you support us on Patreon at the $2 tier or higher, you can link your account to Archidekt in order to receive some perks such as ad removal. To do so, navigate to your Account Settings by clicking on your username in the top right corner of any page. Click on the Patreon tab, followed by the 'Link your Patreon!' button. A Patreon tab will open, asking you to log in to your account there. Once done, the Patreon tab on Archidekt should display the linked account's email.

How do I search for cards?

On any non-deck page on Archidekt, in the upper left-hand corner, click the search menu button . If you're on a deck page on desktop, click the 'Search' button in the upper left. If you're on a deck page on mobile, click the 'Search' button on the toolbar at the bottom of your screen. You can also open this menu on desktop by pressing Ctrl+Enter and close it with Esc. By default, you're set to perform an 'Archidekt Search'. Enter a card name in the search box or expand Advanced Options and/or Filter & Sort for a more detailed search. 'Syntax Search' is also a tab available on that page and allows you to perform a search using a multitude of keywords and expressions. If you currently have a Commander/EDH deck open, a third tab called "EDH Recs" is available. With this tab selected, you can search different types for cards frequently used with your commander.

How do I create a deck?

While logged in, on the top banner of the home page, click the 'New Deck' button or, on any page, click the user button in the upper right-hand corner. This will open up a dropdown where you can select 'New Deck'. From the next menu, you choose a name for your deck, what format you're building it for (choose 'Custom' for no format), a deck folder to put it in (optional), and if you want it set to private or not.

How do I use the editor without making a new deck (Sandbox mode)?

While logged in, on the top banner of the home page, click the 'Sandbox' button or on any page click the user button in the upper right hand corner. This will open up a dropdown where your can select 'Sandbox'.

How do open one of my decks?

There are multiple ways to access your decks: On the homescreen, the wheel titled 'Your Decks' shows your most recent decks in order of their last modification. Click the user button in the upper right corner of your screen. On the drop-down menu, your most recent decks will be listed. Alternatively, click on 'Decks (View All)' to navigate to your deck folders page. Click the "Decks" button in the upper right of your screen. Click 'My Decks' from the drop-down. The ensuing page will include a sortable visual display of all of your decks.

How do I search for decks?

On the home page, you can search a deck by name using the text input in the center top banner. Additionally, on the top right of any page, click the "Decks" button. From the drop-down, select 'All Decks'. This will open a page showing all recently created decks on Archidekt, along with advanced options for looking up decks by name, creator, format Commander, and included cards.

How do I add cards to my deck?

There are two main ways to add cards to your deck: Via the Search menu (see "How do I search for cards?" above). Click the green plus button on the upper right of a card. Via Quick Add, located at the top of your deck page, right below the deck banner. This will add the most basic (non-promo, non-foil, etc.) version of a card you know by name. Quick Add's text input can be focused by Ctrl+' (Cmd+' on Mac). You can change this bar to Syntax Add (Ctrl+.) via the dropdown next to its name. This will allow you to perform a search using a multitude of keywords and expressions. Via the Import menu (see 'How do I import a deck from a different list' below).

How do I save my decks?

Your decks are saved automatically as you make changes. As you make edits, the 'Save' icon (left toolbar on desktop, bottom toolbar on mobile) briefly changes to a spinning circle. If the spinning persists, it may mean your edits are not being saved. If this happens, 'Export' your deck and reload the page to ensure you don't lose progress.

How do I import a deck?

From a deck page, on the bottom of the left-hand toolbar (the second bottom toolbar on mobile), click the 'Import' button. This will bring up the Import Cards menu. The currently accepted formats are listed at the top under 'Formatting Examples'. Paste any list of cards into the text area and at the bottom of the text area and click the 'Save Changes' button. This will add all the cards found in the list to the deck and report any errors.

How do I create custom categories for my cards?

Custom categories can be created from card menus (accessed by clicking the arrow along the right side of a card in your deck) or the 'Extra Settings' tab in a deck's Setting menu. Category Templates can also be created by navigating to your Account Settings via your username in the top right corner of any page, and clicking the 'Category Templates' tab. These Templates can be applied to decks upon creation or via the 'Extra Settings' tab referenced above. Category Templates will not be visible in your deck until they have a card applied to them via a card menu.

How do I change how my deck is displayed?

On any deck page, locate the 'View as' drop-down menu below the deck banner at the top of the page. This menu presents you with a multitude of options (such as Stacks, Text and Grid) for how your deck will be displayed.

How do I change how cards are grouped?

On any deck page, locate the 'Group by' drop-down menu below the deck banner at the top of the page. This menu presents you with a multitude of options for how cards will be stacked in your deck.

How do I change how my card stacks are sorted?

On any deck page, locate the 'Sort by' drop-down menu below the deck banner at the top of the page. This menu presents you with a multitude of ways to have cards sorted within their stacks.

How do I select multiple cards at once?

On desktop, you can multiselect cards by holding Ctrl and left clicking cards and/or category names. To select your entire deck, press Ctrl+A or right click on a blank area of the deck page, select 'More options' and then 'Select all'. On mobile, you can multiselect cards by long pressing cards and/or category names. To select your entire deck, long press on a blank area of the deck page, select 'More options' and then 'Select all'. Multiselected cards are highlighted in orange and can be dragged between categories and/or edited together via the multiselect widget that appears at the bottom of your screen.

How do I set the cards in my deck to their cheapest version?

Using one of the multiselect methods mentioned above, select the cards whose editions you want to change. From the multiselect widget, select the three dot icon then "Optimize printings". From this menu, you can change the selected cards to their cheapest, most expensive, fanciest, newest, or oldest printings.

How do I export my deck to a cart to purchase?

On any deck page, click the 'Buy Cards' button (bottom right of the deck banner on desktop, under the deck banner on mobile). This will open the right side panel and the Shopping tab where you can select the vendor of your choice and which parts of the deck to export.

How do I create an image of my deck to share on social media?

Click on the Share icon (left side of the deck banner on desktop, on the wheel under the deck banner on mobile) and select 'Generate deck image'. On the ensuing page, you can modify what information is shown and how your cards are ordered in the image. You can download the deck image via the 'Download Image' link in the top right corner of the page.

How do I build decks with my friends?

Archidekt supports live, collaborative deckbuilding between users. From the banner on any deck you own, click the 'Collaborators' link. On the ensuing menu, you can give other users permission to edit that deck the same ways you can as the owner.

Playtester

How do I open the Playtester?

From any deck page (including those you don't own!), click the Playtester button located on the right side of the deck banner on desktop and just below the banner on mobile.

How do I change the size of my cards?

You can change the size of your cards and numerous other Playtester options from the Settings menu . This is located in the lower right corner of the page on desktop and on the left-most bottom toolbar on mobile.

What keybinds are available in the Playtester?

All of the Playtester keybinds can be viewed by pressing Shift+/ (?) or by clicking 'Keybinds' in the upper left corner of the page.

How do I multiselect cards in play?

You can select multiple cards in play by left clicking and dragging your cursor over an area containing the cards you want. For more targeted multiselecting, you can Ctrl-click individual cards. Selected cards will be highlighted in orange.

How do I group cards in play?

After multiselecting two or more cards, right click and select 'Group cards', choosing whichever orientation you want the cards to appear in. To group cards one at a time, hold Ctrl as you drag a card over another. Dragging the card to different drop zones on another card will result in it snapping to different orientations.

What are 'Actions click' and 'Options click'?

This option, located along the bottom toolbar of the Playtester, dictates what your left click/tap does. Actions click is on by default for the majority of devices. Options click makes your left click/tap function like Action click's right click and is on by default for devices running iOS. This is because drag and drop is not possible on iOS. We recommend using Actions click if your device allows it.

How can I share my screen without showing my hand over a program like OBS or Discord?

Along the right side of the bottom toolbar, click the 'Popout' button. This will open a separate window that shows your battlefield while hiding your hand and other sensitive information (like your library while searching it). Sometimes this window will not update unless you have it visible on your monitor. To ensure the popout updates in real time, you can make the following changes in your browser settings: Chrome Open Chrome flags at chrome://flags Disable 'calculate-native-win-occlusion' Firefox Navigate to advanced Firefox settings at about:config Set the following options to false: widget.windows.window_occlusion_tracking.enabled and widget.windows.window_occlusion_tracking_session_lock.enabled

Social Features

How do I manage my followed users?

You can follow any other use from their user page, accessed by clicking on their name from a deck page or comment. To view your full list of followed users, navigate to your Account Settings from your username in the top right corner of any page, and click on the Following tab. You can unfollow a user from this page or from their user page. Followed users' recent decks appear in a wheel at the bottom of the homepage.

How do I use the site's forums?

Archidekt's forums can be accessed from anywhere on the site via the Forum button at the top of the page. The three main subforums are General, Archidecture and Development. Within any subforum, you can create new threads and comment on preexisting ones. General is a good place to discuss anything broadly related to MTG. Archidecture is where you can share and discuss your decks with other users along with anything else related to deckbuilding. The Development subforum is where you can report bugs and make feature requests.

What is Feature Voting?

Feature Voting is a subforum where potential future features are discussed. Features that generate more interest in the form of supporting comments and upvotes are more likely to be prioritized in development. Only members of the Archidekt Team can create threads in Feature Voting, but all users are able and encouraged to comment. If you have a feature suggestion that does not appear in Feature Voting, feel free to make a thread in the Development subforum. We'll discuss and add it to Feature Voting if appropriate. Features that have already been implemented are archived and can be found at the very end of Feature Voting for reference.

What is loyalty?

Loyalty is the numeric value of the combined upvotes and downvotes on a users' decks and comments. Loyalty is displayed on user pages.
